About
The Japan Society of Fairfield County - aka The Japan US Society of Greater Fairfield County Inc. or JSFC for short is an all volunteer registered 501(c)(3) promoting goodwill through the understanding of Japanese culture, history, arts, language, etc. We welcome anyone with an interest in Japan and Japanese related topics. We focus events in Fairfield County, Connecticut but are not limited and include the greater area including Westchester County, NY or New Haven County, CT or areas.
Mission
We are dedicated to building knowledge and mutual understanding between Japanese and Americans through educational, cultural and philanthropic programs.
Programs
January - Annual New Year's Oshogatsu Celebration.
Sept - Annual Fall Festival w/Obon Dancing
Oct/Nov - Annual Meeting and culture or featured speaker program.
Cherry Blossom picnic, kimono/tea ceremony educational programs, other speaker or networking opportunities.
Opportunities
Fellowships, volunteering, or other opportunities.
"Sakura Manbon Project" - spreading beauty and goodwill by donating and planting cherry blossom trees across our community. We are always looking for support, volunteers, and additional planting locations!
